Our physical bodies are made from this planet. Indeed, our bodies are mostly Ocean. We are prone to forget that evolution doesn't mean that we have gone beyond the stages of development along the way. If we but look a little closer, we notice that all levels of animate life are passed through in the human womb: from a single cell, through a foetus that becomes fish-like, then reptilian and then lower mammalian - losing our tail and hair along the way - finally coming to birth as a human baby. This planet lends her body to multitudinous forms of life that, uninterfered with, interact in perfect interdependance - dance a wondrous balance, in and around one another. Each element, plant, insect, fish and animal represents a certain aspect of Gaia's - and our - being. In a way, we are Gaia's intelligence and awareness - currently lost in self-destructive madness. We must acknowledge, respect and love her for being the Mother she is to us or we deny our very selves. Nurture the Mother as she nurtures us.
